Hi
It's time for a good long post again.
Boys, take this chance to stop what you are doing, and think about what you will be like 5 years from now. How is it going to be like? Is it going to be another round of education ( i mean JC, Poly, Uni and some of your NS)? Or is there more to it?
I have been thinking alot on intelligence and education, something that is very sensitive in today's society. What is intelligence? Is it merely just paper qualification?
Is intelligence something that is predetermined by your body cells (for the older ones, it's genes)? Does your surroundings play a part as well?
Well, i believe its more than just genes and surroundings. It is about YOURSELF as well. Imagine, you have the best body (the best brain), you have the most conducive environment to study and excel, but you choose not to excel, then whose's fault is it?
So in exams (be it school exams or BB theory papers), it is not just your body's capability, your environment and most importantly, you yourself play an important part as well. Whether you choose to make it a point to revise for your exams, whether you choose to give up in your studies or not, you have a say in it.
To those who are not so smart, don't be discouraged. Hardwork and determination play an important role as well. If you don't understand the topic, ask. Don't be afraid to speak up and ask your friends or your teachers.
But then again, intelligence and education are only half of your training to the job(s) you are going to have in the future. The other half is about how you relate to people, how you handle things. This is also known as the soft skills.
I hope that in the past 10 (nearly) months, you would have gained something from BB. I hope that you would have learned skills that are essential in your lives.
In short, if you want to excel, you have to play a part as well.
Do take time to reflect even though most (if not all) of your should be busy revising for for EOY examinations now.
And yes, let's pray and work hard. We are on track for JM Fraser Gold this year. Thank God.
