my Letter to Mdm Liew

heyo this was my hand written letter to mdm liew and i put it on her table just this friday.

well some background first la... apparently my batch of sec4s did horribly for our O level results... ohya and this event that i just have to share ;) when i went up to shake Mdm Liew's hand for getting 6A1s, she said straight in my face that "I am disappointed in your english results" which turns out to be a shocking B3.

and below is my letter to her... note that i made reference to my experience in BB and i hope that you guys can identify with it too...

Dear Mdm Liew,

Hey this is cheekit here and I feel really led by God to write this letter to you. I pray that this letter would encourage you and inspire you to continue in your work for the school and also for God.

As a CCA leader in BB and also a House Captain, I too will blame myself when my CCA fails or did not perform as well as before. I think that you might be going through this period too. However, I really thank God that He lifted me up through these circumstances. Moreover, I remember telling my BB Boys this when they could not attend Champions Day, "This does not mean that you Boys are not working hard enough (because I can see that you guys put in your best during trainings), it does not mean that Mr. Lim, the officers and instructors are not working hard enough but its because its God plan. Moreover, we should not judge our success by awards but by the quality of the Boys we groom. In that light, i think we achieved gold."

I think that this is the same for Xinmin. Our results does not mean that the teachers are not working hard enough, it could mean that we (students) are not working hard enough, but all in all its God's plan. Also the quality and character of the students that Xinmin has groomed is more important. Judging by the number of leaders that Xinmin has groomed and the number of us coming back to help in our CCAs, i think we got an A1 in this area.

I think that you, Mdm Liew, are a special and unique principal. Unlike others, you focus on character development and also on exposing us to different things and current affairs, rather than just academics alone. I must say that as your student, I have definitely benefitted from the programmes. I would also like to thank you for giving me the opportunity to lead and also take part in PESA.

At this point, I would like to share a song entitled "Thank You" by Ray Boltz. (remember the song i sang during Mr. Lim's farewell, yups that one) II I think that the message of the song would be that our actions, though insignificant, does impact other people's life. Moreover, God takes notice of these actions and He is pleased and will reward us.

Lets move on and talk aboout my results ;) Even though I may have disappointed you with mu english results, I believe that this is God's perfect plan for me. Yes even I am shocked about my english grade. I guess the fact that I could not get an A1 further proves that everything is in God's hands and that he controls (twists in this sense) everything XD so dont worry. Certain doors may be closed but i guess it makes it easier for me to chose my JC. I am excited to see what God has for my life ahead.

Concluding this letter, I would like to say that every batch of students are different and unique. We have our own flaws, and we have our own strenghts. Each batch will perform differently. You shouldn't blame yourself for our failures. Nothing is wrong with your programmes or the teachers. Everything is in God's hand and plan.

I pray that you will draw strengh from God and also seek Him for the year ahead for His purpose and direction. Lets go for lunch some day :)

cheers
cheekit
