Platoon 2,
For the BB Cares on this Wednesday (27/07/2011), you will be explaining and playing the games with the folks at the Tembusu Home. So make sure that you read the details of the game before explaining it to the folks. If there are any enquires, feel free to turn to SGT Ivan (96431610) and SGT Jacky (93681007) or any of the NCO council.

Games details

1) Captains Ball

Captain’s ball is a game that requires team to pass a ball to the other end till it reach the “captain”. A point is scored whenever the ball is passed to the “Captain” at a designated spot. It is a time-based game. The winner will be the team with the highest point.

Rules and regulation

1) The people in Tembusu Home and the Boys will be split into even groups

2) Each game will be 10++minutes long(Extended time will be given depending on the amount of stops in the game)

3) The captain’s area of each team is the one at the opposite end of the playing field depending on where each team starts.

4) The player is not allowed to dribble with the ball. Each player can only move a maximum of 3 steps when he gets the ball.

5) A point is scored when the ball is passed to the “captain” who is standing in the Captain’s Area. The player has to be in the area first before the ball arrives or else the score will not be counted. The player has to hold the ball for 3 seconds to score so if the player dropped the ball during the 3 seconds, the goal is not counted.

6) No stealing is allowed. A defending player has to be at least 1 hand away from the attacking player. The defending player can only dispossessed the opponent by intercepting a pass.

7) No charging is allowed

8) Physical contact is to be kept to the minimum in the course.

1) Minesweeper

The game is played by first creating grid as a play field. The size of the grid (number of columns or rows) will depend on the number of participants playing. The game is carried out by a person in charge (1 or all the sec 2s). He will then have a piece of paper in his hand having the smaller version of the exact grid drawn on it, but the difference is that his grid will have crosses placed randomly anywhere on the grid. The participants will then step on to see if the position they are stepping on is safe or “bomb”. The objective of the game is to be able to get all the participants on to the grid without the bombs in the least possible time. For this activity, the participants would be split up to at least 9+ people a group. REQUIREMENTS: the sec 2s would have to know the game to be able to teach it to the participants, string or chalk (if there is somewhere the grid can be drawn).

Sincerely,
SGT. Jun Ji

BB Cares

Plt 2,
please take note that for this coming week's BB Cares programme on Wednesday (20/07/11), all of you should be familiar of the various origami techniques taught to you by then. You will need to engage the elderly folks at Tembusu Home and teach them how to fold origami. Here below are some links you may find useful in case you have forgotten how to fold origami:

Administrative Matters

Hi Boys

Here are some administrative matters you need to take note of:

1. We will be receiving some visitors from BB Philippines this coming Saturday. They will be seeing Platoon 3 in Total Defence Gold Drama presentation. Accompanying BB Philippines will be our Executive Director, Mr Desmond Koh. So please put up your best performance!
If time permits, we will be having a friendly soccer match with friends from BB Philippines.

2. Total Defence Silver Presentation. Just a reminder, each pair is supposed to present on one of the five pillars of Total Defence. So if you are presenting on Military Defence, you should ideally touch on what Militay Defence is all about and all the components on Military Defence. It will be a 15-20min presentation. Under-presentation (less than 15 mins) will be penalized.

3. There will be an informal session for Sec1 this week. This session serves to help you wear your uniform properly. Do check out the date and time from the CSM.
